Last week was Restaurant Week in Szczecin and it was a great opportunity to sample some places I haven’t been to yet! I had a great time and am pleased to report on my experience.
The first restaurant I ate at was Bohema. I’ve been wanting to go there for a while since I saw them in the 2016 Gault & Millau Guide and I finally had a chance! The service was very professional and the food was beautiful and delicious! This place offers fine dining in a setting that’s welcoming and not intimidating.
I can’t wait to go there again!
The next place was Avanti. Although I was given the least desirable seat in the restaurant, I enjoyed the food and my server was great. My impression of this place is that it’s quite noisy. From the music that’s on the loud side to the bartender passionately pounding ingredients for his cocktails to the kitchen door swinging back and forth behind me. I’ll go back for the food but it’s not at the top of my list.
The third place I ate at was Public Fontanny (Avenue of Fountains). I like this place and I think anyone who enjoys “normal” food would love the food there. For me, however, there was too much dairy and gluten. I couldn’t find anything on the menu that wasn’t served with meat, dairy AND gluten. I know that for most people that sounds perfect, but for me, I prefer to only have one of the three if I have to, so I won’t be going back anytime soon but it’s not Public’s fault. The restaurant was full of people and the service was great so feel free to go there for a great food coma!
Finally, on Sunday, I went to Clou. Again, Restaurant Week is great because I wouldn’t normally go there. I’m not a wine person and this place is for wine people. The food is good too! What I really liked about the food was that it was served REALLY hot! The soup and the main were piping hot and I like that! The service was awesome too. Even though this place gives off a hipster, too cool vibe the servers showed they are down to earth and have a sense of humor. When I have a chance to go out with some wine people I will surely take them there!
